About the Course

Course Overview: 

The India Good Agriculture Practices (IndG.A.P) certification scheme has been developed by the Quality Council of India ( www.qcin.org), set up in 1997 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce, set up by Govt of India, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce ( FICCI) and ASSOCHAM.

 QCI was established as the National level Accreditation body to lead a quality movement in India and the Chairman is appointed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India

International Conformance: The IndG.A.P certification scheme is in conformance with International Standard ISO/IEC 17065.

Under the scheme, all the farmers and the producer groups in the farming sector including Small and marginal farmers are covered

IndG.A.P Scheme Version 4.2 received benchmarking recognition from GlobalG.A.P version 5.2 ( www.globalgap..org)  and was recognized as equivalent for the scope of Fruits and vegetables, facilitating exports to over 130 countries.

 Course Description:

IndG.A.P covers all agricultural and horticultural crops  and is structured in a manner to address the small and marginal farmers.

 Certificate Option:

· Option 1: An individual producer (farmer ) applies for certification and he will be the certificate holder once certified

 

The course is based on a Modules basis.

4. Biodiversity Module (This applies only when the farm holding of individual producer exceeds 2.5 Ha

The clauses in each module is classified as Major , Minor and Recommendations. To get the certificate, all the Major clauses and  95% of the applicable minor non conformances have to be complied , Recommendations are optional .

 The above modules are to be implemented by the individual producer before inspection and issue of certificated by the accredited certification body
